The importance of The National Creative Relief Program

  • Artists and creative individuals are an integral part of the creative and cultural economy of the UAE.
  • The program aims to ensure the sustainability of cultural production in the country.
  • Cementing the UAE’s position as an incubator for creativity, arts and culture.
  • An appreciation to creatives to continue to support the creative sector in various circumstances.

Who is eligible to receive this grant through The National Creative Relief Program ?

  •  Individuals who are citizens and non-citizens currently residing in the country
  • Independent/freelance creatives working in the creative and cultural industries sectors (25 fields)
  • Small enterprises operating in the cultural and creative industries sector

Applying for The National Creative Relief Program

Individuals and companies can apply for the program by filling the form and providing the support document

Criteria for obtaining the financial grant:

  • The size of loss incurred by an individual or a company as a result of cancellation of contracts or work.
  • The amount of financial setback for an individual and a company
  • The applicant’s track record for producing creative content in the UAE since 2019
  • Business sustainability plan of the time being.

Relief Fund criteria and requirements

 

Application Criteria

  1. Individuals working in the cultural and creative sector
  2. Commercial license holders as freelancers from development departments or free zones
  3. Must not be employed full-time with a salary in any other entity
  4. Individuals whose income is from independent employment contracts
  5. Must be over 18 years old
  6. Residents of the UAE

Evaluation Criteria

  1. Loss of income as a result of cancellation of contracts or work in March, April, and May
  2. Cash flow for the period of May to July 2020
  3. Efforts made to sustain the business during the current period
  4. History of business in the country in 2019

Requirements and Guidelines

  1. A copy of work permit (for freelancers)
  2. A copy of the Emirates ID
  3. A copy of passport with UAE residency visa
  4. Official bank statements for the last 6 months
  5. Copies of cancelled contracts/works/agreements that affected the income in March, April and May
  6. Copies of financial commitments in May, June, and July
 

Application Criteria

  1. Companies working in the cultural and creative sector (25 fields)
  2. Holders of commercial licenses from development departments or free zones
  3. Companies with less than 10 employees
  4. Companies that started formal business operations before 2019

Evaluation Criteria

  1. The loss of income as a result of cancellation of contracts or works between March, April and May
  2. Cash flow for the period of March to September 2020
  3. Efforts made and decisions taken so far business sustainability (rationalization of spending, use of reserve, etc.)
  4. History of business in the country in 2019

Requirements and Guidelines

  1. A copy of the company's commercial license
  2. A copy of Emirates ID of the legal representative of the company
  3. Official bank statements for the last 6 months
  4. Monthly cash flow from 1 March to 30 September indicating the opening and final balance for each month (excel file)
  5. Copies of contracts, financial obligations or major expenses of the company indicated on the cash flow
  6. Evidence of cancelled contracts or agreements from March to June
  7. Pledges to the validity of the data provided
  8. Authorizing to review the credit history of the company

The National Creative Relief  Program welcomes contributions from individuals and companies. The program aims to support creatives working in the cultural and creative industries sector to face the challenges caused by COVID-19.
